Weiser to Public Employees: Get Out of Michigan
GOP Chair Says Employees Can Leave and Find New Jobs
LANSING – Michigan Republican Party Chairman Ron Weiser doesn’t care about public employees such as teachers, firefighters, police officers, and nurses. Weiser says they can leave the state and look for work elsewhere.
In an appearance on WOOD-TV’s To The Point with Rick Albin, Weiser said:
“These people still have a choice – the people who work for governmental agencies. If they don’t like what happens…they can leave and get another job. Nothing forces them to stay.”
“Ron Weiser has no respect nor understanding for what our public employees do and how hard they work,” Michigan Democratic Party Chair Mark Brewer said. “He would rather force these hard-working tax-paying citizens to leave this state in order to push through his partisan agenda. Wealthy CEOs – like Weiser – need to share in the sacrifices necessary to move Michigan forward.”
“Mr. Weiser would rather see education and public safety suffer – which would damage our state – than share in the pain,” Brewer continued. “He and his fellow Republicans are out-of-touch and have no fair solutions for moving Michigan forward.”
